that sends xml data to an email address.

on my computer, I filled out the form with reader 8.1 and
when clicking on the "send by email" button, i'm geting
this prompt:

"Acrobat does not allow connection to:mailto:"

on another computer this is works fine and Outlook is opend.
I need this to function also in my computer.

Please help me to enable the rights of LiveCycle form to Acrobat Reader.

Try re-Reader-enabling your form again in Acrobat Pro.

Hi Lori

Thank for the answer

it's realy works,
I read that form that produced in LCD can't be editing in Acrobat pro.
I'm very interesting to know if this is the way to
work with evry form , so after made the form in LCD need to
enable the form in acrobat pro, isn't it ?

Thank you Lori

Yes, you'll need to Reader-enabled your forms (if you want the form recipients with just Reader to save the data with the form) in Acrobat Pro. 8 or 9.

Also, you're correct that LCD form cannot be edited in Acrobat Pro.

I made a simple Course evaluation form. In LiveCycle Designer LC (part Acro 9 Ex Pro) When my client try to the “Email Button” They get an obtuse error.

Acrobat does not allow connection to:
mailto:xxxx [dot] yyy [at] zzz [dot] com?subject=Corse Appraisal Survey.Apparently LifeCycle and Acrobat are not that compatible - go figure
I have tried extending rights in reader – but still does not work..
From trawling thru the Net – the best advice is rebuild the form in Acrobat NOT LiveCycle. ANy ideas? Cheers

What version of Reader is your client using? Have they tried Reader 9? Sometimes this is related to the Trust Settings under the Preferences menu in Acrobat/Reader.

Have you tried re-Reader-enabling your form?

Using the e-mail button can be somewhat unpredictable within an mixed computer environment. Variations in OS, security settings, and versions of Reader unfortunately can affect compatibility.

Hello Ikassuba, thank you for offering some advice. What version of reader do they have? - would be a mix of 8 and above. It would be difficult for me to check/change the Trust settings on 300 computers (any ideas would be welcome to change that setting in an automated way). Have you tried re-Reader-enabling your form - My form tell this is set and enabled - however I could remove and re-apply if you think, if will work?
Is there another way I get client form data back to me, other than an e-mail button ?
Cheers

I would try re-Reader-enabling your form first. Sometimes this corrects the problem.
