I am using Adobe Livecycle 8 professional and very new to it. I am trying to get a textfield or dropdown box in the middle of a sentence that shows the numbers 1-5. I just need this to be any type of field that will allow the user to key in a number or select a number.

I need it to show Additional Training: Systems come with {textfield} day(s) of training.

My Product Information:
LiveCycle Designer, Windows

Were you able to get an answer on how to do this? I am also trying to create a PDF document that would would have one or two words/text fields that are editable for users to customize to their needs. I don't want to make the entire document editabale, and I would like to make it as easy as possible for the users.

Thanks!

Have you considered using a Text object, followed by a Field (a dropdown) followed by another Text object?

[Systems come with] [1 |V] [day(s) of training.]

Text1 Drop1 Text2

You can turn the Dropdown List's caption off (on the Layout palette there's a "Caption" section that lets you do this).

Options in the Layout menu, like "Align" and "Make Same Size" can help make the objects line up correctly and look nice together.

If you select all 3 objects, you can right-click and choose "Wrap in Subform". That will group all of the fields together so you can move them easily without messing up your layout.
