Barcode Help Needed

At work I offered to do simple acrobat forms and this is what happens. On the form the person uses a hand-held scanner to read a barcode number into the form. Okay that works great. Now the person wants the field to produce a barcode field that can be printed and read by a hand-held scanner... I used the auto-script method and our 3-9 scanner can read the barcode, but the other hand-held scanner which is suppose to read 3-9 and 128 barcodes cannot read the barcode.
 
I am not a programmer and have no idea how to adjust the javascript so the 128 scanner can read the barcode. Can anyone help me with this or direct me somewhere I can have this scripting done?

Just a thought - Can it possibly have to do with the scanner itself? The one we're working with right now has to be preset to read each different type of barcode symbology - in our case, that involves scanning a "setup" barcode for the given type of barcode.
