Can't save form - even with usage rights enabled

Hi all,

I've created a large-ish PDF form (about 20 pages) in LiveCycle Designer & enabled usage rights. Certain users of the form find that after entering some data, they can't save the form. This doesn't happen to all users, only a few.

The "Save" button is disabled, but the "Save As..." button isn't. So the user still is able to save the form.

Has anyone else come across this?

Does anyone know if it's a bug or intended behaviour? If it's intendend behaviour what would be the cause?

Ask your users what version of Adobe Reader they're using. If lower than v7.5 ask them to upgrade.

Hi ted,

We've asked them to all upgrade, but I've also discovered it's the same on my Acrobat installation as well as my managers. Mine is Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 for Windows and my managers is Acrobat Pro 8.0.0 for Mac (he also has Reader 9.1.0).

I wanted to check whether it was this form in particular so I created a small test form and the same thing happened. No save button, but the "Save as..." still works!

It seems as though it's only started happening in the last few weeks. I don't suppose Adobe have made an update that prevents users from saving straight back to the same file?
