Changing a field from text to date.

I created a form in MS Word 2003 that I call a case tracking fom. It tracks the progress of business moving through the office. My goal is to insert mostly check boxes, a few radio buttons and a few date fields. I imported it into LiveCycle. Everything appeared fine (appearance is everything to a beginner) until I changed a text field to a date field. In addition to the "date" text which is easy to delete, you also get an extention to the right of the field that is yellow or orange in color. I don't know how to even highlight but when you switch to Preview PDF, where this extension ends you get what looks like a square hole in the form. I can't find anything in the help files, or the jargon (technical language) is beyond me. HELP, please!

Make sure you size the Date field correctly and set it to "ReadOnly" if you don't want it to be manually edited. The date field comes with a button on the right that's for displaying the popup calendar. I think this may be your hole in the form.

First, my apologies to ThomP for my lack of response. Second, I discovered how much of a beginner I am with this software. I didn't know you "size the field." Third, today (3/12/08) Thom gave an awesome class on creating forms in LiveCycle, a recording of which will be posted shortly. Again, my apologies to Thom.

Well, actually, that was Jim Heally from FormRouter who gave the presentation today. I'll be giving one next month on using JavaScript in LiveCycle forms.

LOL. I'm sure you're just as good and I plan on attending your session. Is there a beginner's book you might suggest?
