Currency Display Pattern problem

When I add a numeric field and set the display pattern, it shows a message saying: "Value may be unexpected for currency"

My locale settings show default locale. My default locale is set to my PC which is "English".

Even when I change the locale to show "English (USA)" the message goes away, but when I type in a dollar value it doesn't show the dollar sign.

It shows this little circle with 4 lines coming out of it.

There is another English besides the USA version, our cousins across the pound and their use predates the USA. And they have adopted the Euro for their currency.

In LiveCycle Designer you need to set the locale language value to en_US because you OS is not supplying this information.

See also:

SOMexpression.locale = “ambient | locale”

$host.language

in the Scripting Reference for LiveCycle Designere.

Thanks for replying. However, I did set the locale to:

English USA

The English United Kingdom is separate not chosen.

When I'm in the OS, and view the locale for the PC, it shows that currency will be formatted as $999,999.99. So its correct in the OS.

And in LiveCycle Designer 8 I chose English USA as the locale and I still get the other currency. But, that's by clicking on the field, Object list, and changing the locale.

I've also set the locale to be English USA on the properties of LiveCycle 8.

Thanks.
