I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer 8 and need to decrease the size of the .pdf. The PDF Optimizer option is greyed out in Pro. If i use the print to Adobe PDF option it loses the ability of entering information into the fields on the form.

Thanks

Hi,

sounds that you are victim of a bug in Designer.

PDF Optimizer is designed to work on PDF created using the PDF standard and not XML documents wrapped in a PDF. This is the same situation as PDF Optimizer not being able to optimize embedded videos in a PDF.

LiveCycle Designer was developed outside of Adobe by JetForms and then JetForms was later acquired by Adobe and added to the Acrobat product.

You can try turning off font embedding, that can make quite a difference.
