THE POSITION OF MY TEXT CELLS IN MY DISIGNER FORM BECOMES SWAPPED AROUND ON MY EXCEL SPREADSHEET. WHAT DETERMINES WHERE DATA IS PLACED IN SPREADSHEET COLUMNS?

I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you're trying to accomplish.
Are you trying to paste cells you've copied from Excel into Designer? If so, what version of Designer are you using?
Or are you trying to use Acrobat to generate an Excel spreadsheet using a collection of XML Data files you've collected from form submissions?
