I can't seem to open or save .pdf files in either LiveCycle Designer 8.0.5 or ES.
It used to work on my laptop quite well.
LiveCycle Designer 8.0.5 crashes with a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information".
It even crashes when I open a "new blank form" and them try to "save".
I tried uninstalling LD8.0.5 and installing LiveCycle Designer ES (8.1.1.2188.1.406459) which we just purchased. Even worse results.
The standard windows "open" or "save as" dialog box will display for a few seconds and then the entire application disappears with no messages.
Please help. It used to work fine about a month ago. And now consistently crashes. I have tried everything I can think of the last several weeks including reinstalling without resolution. This error has caused Designer to be totally unusable.
P.S. I have installed Acro8Pro from CD on a second laptop with a new Win XP image and only Acrobat8 and IE and it works fine (same versions as my crashing laptop).
There was some instruction somewhere that talked about deleting an API and DLL file from the install directory, I did that and it "seemed" that I crashed slightly less. But I certainly get that fatal error a few times a day. And it really blows to have your 900 KB file poof into 0 kb . . .
