Hi Abie,

From the LC Designer 7 Help file the instructions for Showing or Hiding Tooltips are-

To show or hide the object tooltips-
1. Select Tools ->Options.
2.Select Workspace and under Page View Options, select or deselect Display Object Name Tooltips While Pointing.

I beleive this has not changed in version 8.

Hope that helps,

Dimitri

Thanks for the help, but the steps you stated here are to disable the tool tips in Designer. I am trying to disable tool tips in the actual form I am developing.

Thanks

Hi Abie,

In Designer select the object and under the Accessibility tab set Screen Reader Precendence to "None."

Hope that helps,

Hi Dimitri,

Thanks for the help. I am aware of setting the Screen Reader Precendence to "None.". The challange is that I have a form with 250+ fields and do not want to go into each field. Do you know if there is a global disable setting?

Hi Abie,

Well you would think there would be a way to do that, wouldn't you? I have been playing around with this and cannot find a way to turn off tooltips globally. I can't locate any tooltip tags in the XML unless I specifically create my own custom tooltip- so it appears there is no XML tag for the default tooltips. Bummer. Maybe another expert here can help out- Anyone want to jump in???
