Hello,
I am new to designing forms, so bear with me...
I want to figure out a way to have fields or form objects appear based on the item a user selects from a drop-down list.
Example:
field A is a drop down list
The options are
1. Forward email to another user
2. delete email address
3. archive email and send to another user
So, lets say the the user selects option 1, I would like to have a couple fields show up on the form specific to this task, etc...
Is this possible?
Yes, this can be done with some scripting. There is a video on this site that shows an example of showing and hiding fields based on selection in a pull-down list-

The video appears to have some problem when you start it with the voice and video syncing, hit the pause and then start play again and it works better. Since you are new to designing forms with LiveCycle Designer and/or Acrobat the whole video should be great material for you.
You may also want to read and look at the examples in this JavaScript Corner article on programming list fields and comboboxes with JavaScript-

Hope this helps,
