It's amazing that anyone noticed this, but it's been pointed out several times, so naturally I'm looking for an answer....
When a user fills out a text field that allows for multiple lines/expansion, by default, the text field places a blank space directly before the first letter that is typed. So, when you view it and print it, you can see that the first line does not line up with the text below it - it looks like an indention was placed there or that the user first hit the spacebar a few times. You CAN backspace and it removes that empty space.
There are NO indents, spaces, scripts, margins, etc. for these fields. They are all left-aligned top, single spaced.
What gives? Why and how do I remove this automatically??
I spent hours trying to troubleshoot this (my internal customer noticed it too) and found a solution that worked for me. You can check out my conversation with myself (because no one else posted!) at
