Hello all,

First post. I've been tasked with creating forms that can be sent throughout the department. I have the email submit function working but when the file is attached to the email I would like to change the file name based on some fields that users fill out. Basically, I have a file called "test" and throughout the day we can have several "test" form being sent around I want a way to make each unique. Is this even possible? I've been reading a lot of older posts but I'm not really finding the answers.

It's not possible.
You will have to save the form first under a desired name before sending it.

Is there a way I can force the saveas so I can make the filename unique? My users have a horrible tendency to name files their own "unique" ways.

This only could be done with a folder level script.
But this needs to be installed on every users computer and won't be practicable in your case.

You should run a test by distributing your finished form through Acrobat.
So you can easily track who returned his data to you.

I've been reading through this and other forums, trying to find a similar solution, but am more interested in "silent saves" using trusted functions.

I'm hoping to have user click save, then the form data will write the file as XML to particular folder.

Every example I've found regarding this isn't working, so hopefully you'll find answer.
