I have created an "employee survey" form using LiveCycle/Acrobat 8.0 Pro and included a Submit by email button on the form. I was all excited about getting the data back in XML so I can have the program compile all this information into a spreadsheet for me. I tested the form in Reader 7, looks great, works great. BUT THEN I hit a brick wall. The software standard for my organization (most of the employees) is Reader 6.0.1.11 and according to the I.S. department, that isn't going to change any time soon. In Reader 6 selecting the Email Submit button does nothing (likewise with a Print Form Button), everything else on the form works fine. Are there any workarounds/solutions to making this survey form still work via some type of electronic response? I'm speculating that my response rate will be much higher if the form can be opened, filled out, and sent back with a click rather than having to print it off and send the physical copy to me in an envelope. Data only submission would be ideal, but even getting an electronic version of the filled-out form would be something.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
I think the rights-enabled forms only work with Acrobat 7+
Hope this helps....
Acrobat is probably the program I use most often and I'm learning more every day.
