Emailing a filled in pdf-form

Hi 2 all,

After a long but interesting journey I succeeded in creating the form I intended.

Works properly, even though experts can find there are many other ways I could have fixed this. But know I only found out about LiveCycle a few weeks ago and had no knowledge at all of Javascript.
The only - and most important - problem that still exists is that I can't get the Email-send-button to send the filled-in pdf-form.

A very friendly expert on the forum advised me to change "xml" into "pdf" in the xml-source, but that doesn't work eiter. Neither does creating a button and submit it to send a pdf.

So there I am, having a nice form but unable to send it. (as a pdf readable in Acrobat Reader)

Has someone a solution for this problem?

Or is there an easy way to get the xml-data, which the email-button wants to send, automatically import in the Acrobat-reader?

By the way, if I want the form to send the xml-file, the form automatically publishes some rubbish after the emailaddress, so the user first has to delete this rubbish before he can send the email.

Who can help?

Thanks in advance!

I'm a novice when it comes to forms, was hoping someone else could answer you, but...
It sounds like you are trying to enter form data using reader, then click a button that would submit the filled in form as a PDF? I think you cannot do this unless you have extended reader rights on the form. Being able to submit the filled in form as a pdf would essentially be the same as saving the form with the data, something that cannot be done with reader unless the form has the extended reader rights. Without extended rights, reader users of your form can only send the xml data.

I also used the same xml souce edit that you used as I was trying to do the same thing. With a regular form (no extended rights) in reader, clicking the send as PDF button did nothing, no error or message, just nothing (which made me think the code change did not work). Testing with a form in reader that had rights extended, and it worked as expected, creating and email with the filled in PDF attached.
