Expandable box nightmare

I have been working with Designer for awhile and have created a few simple forms. Now I need to make a form with expandable text boxes and this is driving me nuts. I have done everything everyone has said to do such as explore the help and look at forms already created. I have checked the box "allow multiple lines", I have checked the "Expand to fit" box, and even have put the text field in the subform. Can any of you shed light on what I am missing to get this to work? Thanks!

This is the biggest hurdle facing new users of LiveCycle Designer. Do a couple of things.

1) Save the file as a dynamic form type.
2) Go into form properties and set the preview to a dynamic form type.
3)Set the top-level subform container to "flowed."

Hello, I have 2 inquiries.

The first is i am creating a form which will be filled by different offices and locations. The forms have a portion where there are fields with approximately 6 columns and 15 rows. There will be times where the number of rows will exceed 50. Please let me know how i can have an auto-expand feature so as when the maximum is reached new rows will automatically generate.

Is there a site where you can convert Java scripts to Formcalc or vice versa ?
