While trying to convert a form to XML I get the following error message “IDS_HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR”. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this or where the error could be coming from? The form was created in Adobe LiveCycle 8.0 and I am trying to convert it to XML using Abode Professional 8.0.

I'm not sure I understand. Forms created in Designer are based on XML. Acrobat forms use something entirely different called AcroForms, which can export data in XML.

Are you trying to convert the form or export the data?

The forms were originally designed in LiveCycle 8.0. I then needed to enable features for Acrobat Reader in order for everyone in our office to be able to fill in/save the data. I did this by opening up the form in Professional 8.0 and used the “Enable Usage Rights in Adobe reader”. We then had someone in our office complete a form and email to a generic Outlook mail box. When I open the form from the mail box and try to convert the data from .pdf to XML I get the above error. We are still using a trial version of Professional 8.0 could this be the problem?

I get the same error message when I try to SAVE AS in any of these formats (using Acrobat 8.1.0): MS Word, RTF, and TXT. The only text format that worked was TEXT (ACCESSIBLE).
