Fonts in designer

I have created a form in Designer using a font called Trubetzkoy for some characters. When preview the form as a pdf and when I save the form as a pdf the Trubetzkoy characters do now show. To test that the font worked in a PDF, I created a PDF using the font in word and the characters showed fine. Also, some of the characters of Trubetzkoy do not appear in Designer at all. What do I need to do to ensure that the font shows in Designer and in the PDF? Any help would be most appreciated.

When converting a file to PDF, Distiller needs access to the file’s fonts to insert the appropriate information in the PDF. Distiller first searches the PostScript file for Type 1, TrueType, and OpenType fonts. If the font isn’t embedded in the PostScript file, Distiller searches additional font folders on your computer.

Try this. Open your form in Acrobat. From the menu bar, click Edit, Preference, New Document. Review the list of installed fonts and find Trubetzkoy. If you don't see it, it's not one of the
installed fonts in Acrobat.

Add the font to your list of fonts in MS Windows. Make sure the font is not licensed and can be embedded in your finished PDF file.

Hi Eugene,
Thank you very much for answering my question.

I went into Acrobat and went to Edit, Preference, however there was no 'New Document' option.

Also, when I create a PDF with Trubetzkoy from Microsoft Word, the font is displayed. It is only when I preview the PDF in Designer or save my form as PDF in designer that the font is not displayed. For this reason, I think that it is something that I am doing wrong in Designer.

The font is in my list of fonts in my control panel. It is not in my list of fonts in Designer.

I read the help information in Acrobat and it mentioned that creating a PostScript file first and then a PDF from Distiller can find any errors. However, I can not see the option to create a PostScript file.

I was having the same issue in Acrobat X, and was able to correct it using the following:

Edit -> Preferences -> Convert from PDF -> Post Script Level 2 -> Edit SettingsAbout half way down the screen it will ask you about embedded fonts. You can choose embedded fonts, and *related fonts* - and that will most likely correct your issue.
