Form filled in then LiveCycle Designer erased them

I had a scanned form which I allowed to be auto-recognized for form fields. I started filling them in, several pages worth, and realized I needed to add a field. I went into LiveCycle designer and added the text field. Then when I opened up my document, all fields were blank. About 2 hours of fill-in work gone. Any hints at recovery or just how to avoid doing this in the future?
Thanks ... Jim M / Hartford

Many form designers keep a draft copy and a finished copy of the forms.

Also if you filling a form and need to edit it, you should keep a copy of the field in form and most form editing programs will reset or clear all the form field.

You can also 'export' and 'import' form data, so it is possible to save just the form data and retrieve it at a later date.
