We are attempting to create a form in which there are two drop down lists which the user needs to select an option from both.
There is then a pre-determined outcome inserted into the last column from a calculated -read only dropdown list.
Basically we have
6 items in the first dropdown (one of these being the default of - please select...)
6 items in the second dropdown (one of these being the default of - please select...)
4 items in the third (calculated read only) dropdown list.
For each of these lists we have ticked the Specify item values in the Object binding tab.
So then we are looking at a possible 25 combinations to get an outcome from the third dropdown list.
The items in the third dropdown list each have (except for one) 6 possible combinations.
e.g.
Drop down list 1 = Value item 2
Drop down list 2 = Value item 4
Outcome from Dropdown list 3 = 3
We are looking for a simple formcalc which would allow us to do this??
You can certainly do this in your form. Read this tutorial and download the sample file (with code)-
http://www.acrobatusers.com/tutorials/2007/js_list_combo_livecycle
That tutorial provides pretty much what you need as far as technique goes- the actual code for your unique form is an exercise you will have to complete. It's not a simple FormCalc example and providing that amount of code in a forum setting is problematic without having the actual form to work with, not to mention quite a bit of someone's time.
Hope this helps,
