I am a new user ... our project just purchased Acrobat ... but only the Standard 9 version not the Pro. Seems the forms have limitations in Standard 9 ... no way to secure the form definition, no way to prevent multiple form users from accidentially updating fields, etc. It is my understanding that the LifeCycle Designer comes with the Pro Version? If I buy one copy of the Pro version which includes the LifeCycle Designer ... can folks who have only the Standard 9 Version complete and save the forms created with LifeCycle Designer / Pro 9 Version? Or does everyone have to have the Pro version?

If you mean fill out and save the form with "complete", then the answer is yes.
Forms you created with LiveCycle Designer can of course be used/filled/saved/mailed... with Acrobat Standard.
It's also possible to enable some features for users with Adobe Reader like "save as...".
