grayed out objects

I know this is probably something really simple that I am not seeing. My object choices(text box, etc.)some are grayed out and I can't figure out why....?? Can anyone help??

LiveCycle Designer, Windows

You imported a PDf from Acrobat to LCD.
In this case many options a grayed out.
To have all options awailable you will have to design a completely new document with LCD.
