'Home made' button behaviour

I've created my own button which has a graphic on it instead of text. So basically the button sits underneath and the graphic on top. I've wrapped them in a subform and tried to group them but the latter doesn't seem to work. Because it's overlayed with this graphic, I can't seem to add a script to it to make it appear to depress etc., when you click it.

That's not as important as the next issue though. It appears I can't give a graphic a script, thus I can't tell it to execute any action when clicked.

Can anyone assist please?

You need a button of course and set its fill and border colors to no color.
Mark the button and under the object tab select cutomised for the appearance.
In the following dialog you can control the colors.
Then, simply place your btton over your image ... voila!
