Live Cycle Form Issue - Operation is not permitted

I took a static PDF and used it to make it into a fillable form using Adobe 8 prof Live Cycle. I saved and embedded and permantly replaced fonts. The form is fine except adobe reader could not save their changes to the form when they input data. So I Enabled Rights, this allows them to save changes but I get the stupid operation is not permitted when accessing. So you have to click ok twice and then fill out the form. Isn't there some way to get rid of the error?

I looked at all previous posts and I have tried everything (i think). I have corporate people looking at this form. I created it once without those errors but I have no idea what the difference is between that version and this once, since I've done so many :( Please help!!

My Product Information:
LiveCycle Designer, Windows

This error message and behavior is almost always associated with the fonts not embedding correctly within the PDF. Usually it starts with the underlying PDF (or in some cases Word document) that you import in LiveCycle. Try taking the original PDF that you imported into LiveCycle and embedding the fonts before importing into LiveCycle. You can also troubleshoot your PDF by reviewing the Document Properties (File --> Properties --> Fonts tab). This will tell you if the fonts are actually embedded or not. The Preflight tools in Acrobat 8 Pro. also have several nice features to help analyze your PDF as well. If you're interested, check out Advanced -->Preflight --> PDF Analysis profile --> List Text using non-embedded fonts.

So how would one embed these fonts after the form has already been made? I have created a form that has been in use for over a year now. It has gone through many versions and updates, and would be very time consuming to have to start from scratch.
I followed your directions and found two font types that must have come over from the word document that the form was originally converted from, that are not embeded.
Is there a way of fixing this now, or is the only way to fix it before making the form?

If you open your form in Designer, do you see the option to make a font substitution permanent under Tools > Missing Fonts? Also, under File > Form Properties > Save Options tab make sure you have "Embed fonts" checked.

The option for missing fonts is greyed out in my livecycle.

I checked the box next to embed fonts in Save Options.

I then enabled rights to test it before posting, and the error still pops up twice.

I appreciate all of the help you are offering, thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, it's not possible after the fact. I was going to suggest using the Embed Font Preflight fix but it won't work on a Designer form.
