I am having difficulty using livecycle designer in that it keeps moving my fields and drawings around. Some setting must be turned on to tell acrobat to auto-align or auto-format field placement because I don't have total control over the size and placement of fields and drawings (rectangles mainly). Can you tell me what setting this is? Thank You very much in advance for any help.
I just wanted to set up from blank form to have 0.375 in margins all the way around and then I wanted complete freedom to place things where ever I wanted within those boundaries. But something else is controlling my fields.
I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, version 8.1.2 to create various types of forms and also purchased the book, Acrobat 8, Classroom in a Book.
I have successfully performed all the items in Chapter 16 and was breezing through Chapter 17 when I ran into formatting trouble when trying to build a new form with Adobe LiveCycle Designer (Windows)
Following the book text, I am able to create the new form, insert the company name and logo exactly as the book instructs. However, I can not get through the "Adding text banners" section. I am able to insert the text box, type in the required text and change the size of the text.
However, once I start to change the width (7.5in) and height (0.6in) and hit enter, I cannot get this text to center on the form, keep the box dimensions to 7.5 x 0.6 or anchor this text to X=4.25in; Y=2in with the Top Middle option.
Everything starts to shift; the logo, company name, and the submit button.
I have tried to uncheck the Snap to Grid selection to see if I can stabilize the form, without any success. I type the width and height values in the layout palette and hit Enter. The values change after I hit the Enter key. Same with the anchor values; regardless of how many times I enter all the values, everything changes.
I have tried doing the lesson four times from scratch with identical results.
I am wondering if there is a bug in this program.
Any help is much appreciated!
