Hello,
I have a form that connects to a database and reads and writes records just fine. The issue I have is that I want a copy of the form statically when the user has completed the form either through SaveAs or an Email Submit.
 
What happens when I open it up in Acrobat is that any form field that is not linked to the Dataconnection is fine and present, all the fields that are linked to the dataconnection are blank/missing. If I open it in Reader all the fields are there just as I filled out.
 
How do I prevent the form from blanking out the dataconnection fields?

The fields displaying the database fields are not real "fields", but rather a "window" into the database. To make that a bit clearer, when you open the form, the data from the database is displayed, but that data is still in the database, *not* in the form - the form only knows that the link exists, not what that link is displaying!

One workaround for this would be to make your database fields hidden, then create form fields to display the content of the hidden database fields. The data is now in the form and should perform as expected. There is probably a way to make the data display persistent, but I have limited experience so I shall defer to the gurus here on that point :)
