Hi there

Is it possible in LiveCycle Designer to have a drop-down box with say 6 cities, then to assign different people's email addresses so that when a city is selected the corresponding email is automatticly picked at the Submit by Email stage?
Tx.

Yes, it's possible, it depends how your programming skills are. If you would like, I will send you an example that can be either long winded if your programming isn't strong or a more elegant but harder to understand one.

There are a whole series of articles on this site that explain how to control submits

// This one is specific to LC
http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/modifying-livecycle-designer-form-submit-button

This one is more generic, it explains how email submits work
http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/form-submit-e-mail-demystified

All the articles include examples

New to this site; tx to you both for your response; Thom, the links don't seem to want to open, and the 'accept answer' button has disappeard from your comment...?

I am self-taught in LC, and Adobe for that matter too! I know how to access/find the info I want in XML in another form we use; thought to copy/paste that into my new form but no! It's java scripts I don't understand, obviously seeing as I'm teaching myself.

LOVE creating forms so this dead-end is very frustrating!

Tx guys.

Sorry about the dead end links. There is something wrong with the site. I reported it, so hopefully there will be a fix soon. Try back tomorrow. I know you'll find them very useful, and there are download files with examples. Perhaps Eamy can send you one of their examples?

Don't worry about the "accept answer" button. As far as I know this isn't a contest and we're not being monitored. But I could be wrong, I'm not nearly as paranoid as I should be;)
