I just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 8, and I'm having a problem with the e-mail submission buttons. When I designed a form with a "submit by e-mail" button for use in Reader 7, users were presented with the "select e-mail client" dialog box, with the option of submitting the XML data via an e-mail client or saving it to use as an attachment with a web-based e-mail application.
This option does not appear with Acrobat 8 or Reader 8 (even with forms designed with LiveCycle Designer 8). The programme will only allow submission with the default e-mail client. If I use the "distribute forms" function, the "select e-mail client" dialog box appears, but there is only an option to save the entire PDF file (not just the XML data).
Do you have any suggestions? What I want, in brief, is a way to allow users to save XML data locally to send as an e-mail attachment over web-based e-mail.
You might try using the "Submit via e-mail" button in Designer. That submits only as XML. You can then manually enable local saving through Acrobat's Advanced | Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader option.
