Hi

I'm trying to get a read only text field filled from a set of words (Extreme, High, Medium & Low) based on the users selection of values from two dropdown boxes.

The first dropdown box will have five words (Catastrophic, Major, Moderate, Minor & Insignificant) and the second dropdown box will also have five words (Almost Certain, Likely, Possible, Unlikely & Rare).

If the user selects Catastrophic and Almost Certain, then 'Extreme' should appear in the text field.

There are ofcourse 25 combinations.

Can anyone guide me? I have very basic skills in Formcalc or Java.

Hi kane.sa,

There are some good tutorials in the Learning Center here about programming list fields and populating fields based on a selection from a drop down box. You should give those a read and try replicating the samples from the download files included in the tutorials. Then when you have a pin-point question on what you have tried and what did or did not work this is a good place to ask for help. You request is pretty broad and time-consuming for a forum setting.

Hope this helps,
