Position of text in text fields

I am using LiveCycle Designer within Acrobat 9 Pro and each time I create a text field the text appears in the middle of the box regardless of how I anchor it. Web research has shown that several users have this problem and that the solution is to use the paragraph palette to aqnchor the text correctly. I don't appear to have a paragraph palette!! How do I resolve this very annoying problem?

Have you looked at the "Paragraph" tab on the "Font & Paragaph" Window, "Window => Paragraph" or Shift + F5?

Right-click on the field and select "Paragraph" form the context menu. This isn't a anchor issue, you need to select the vertical alignment.
