I have a scrollable textfield (multiline) in my form and I would like to print out all the text in the field, not just the portion that shows up on the screen.

I am using LiveCycle Designer.

My Product Information:
LiveCycle Designer, Windows

You will have to configure the field to show all of its contents.

There are 3 ways of achieving this:

1. Make the field width/height expandable such that it grows to be as wide and/or tall as required to show all of its contents. You can set this using the "Expand to fit" properties on the Layout palette. Note that for this to work properly, you should put those fields and any other objects below them into a flowed subform so that when the field grows to accommodate the contents, it pushes the following objects down in order to avoid appearing over them.

2. If you're using Designer 8.0+, you can set the text field's "Limit Length to Visible Area" property on the "Object palette > Field tab". This will ensure that the user cannot enter more text than can fit in to the visual area of the text field.3. Set the font size of the value area to zero using the Font palette. Make sure you select "Edit Value" from the selector prior to setting the font size to zero otherwise you'll be setting it on the caption as well and Designer won't let you do that. The result of this will be that Acrobat will adjust the font size automatically to be the best fit for all the contents.

I would recommend you try-out all the options and decide which one works best for you but if it were me, I would go with option 1 -- it's more work but the results are superior and really show the benefits of Adobe Dynamic PDF forms.

I would like to print out all the text in a scrollable text field as well and create a new page when the text in the field extends beyond the page. I tried option 1 and set the "Expand to Print" properties.I am using Adobe Designer 7.0

You'll have to ensure that all parent subforms in which the text field is located have their content type set to "flowed" ("Object palette > Subform > Content" property). This will ensure that when the text field's height expands to accommodate its contents, all parent subforms (containers) will expand as well. At that point, if the text field (at its new height) can no longer completely fit on the page on which it is located, it will automatically be flowed onto a new page.Note that you must ensure that your form is saved as a dynamic PDF for this to work properly. Here's the URL again since it was cut-off (you'll have to remove the line breaks):

Hi Sconforms, thanks for the useful information.

I tried procedure 1 and did get the fields to dynamically expand, but unable to
make this wrap to a new page (the content just continues to expand below the not printable area of the page and doesn't jump to the next page)

I am using designer 8.1

when adding a new page, is there some "link" or relationship I need to define in order to keep the same flowed subform properties from the previous page? with each new page created I made sure that the text element is wrapped within a flowed subform, but its not wrapping to a new page correctly.

thanks for any input,

Hi,
i tried the same using procedure 1 its done, but i have a different scenario that one text field is at the last of the page and another data is on the next page. when i filled that field it inserts a new page rather than flowing the next page fields to move down.

I am using Acrobate X Pro to create a fill in form. What I would like to do is have data from one page when it is entered also appear on a second page. This is not the problem as I can do that. The issue is that the first form has many lines to enter data (numbers and text) but I would like the second page to only list the fields used from the first page. In other words I would like to create a list with no spaces. Can this be done?
