Publishing Forms

I have created a form (Application for Employment) using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0. I use the Windows platform. This form is on the company website and we do not want a submit button as we desire prospective candidates to download the form to their desktop, complete it, then email back along with their resume and cover letter. This has been working fine. Problem I am having is ocassionally the form needs editing. When choosing to edit in Livecycle Designer I get the prompt to save a copy (which I do). After editing and choosing "distribute" I choose to "save and distribute later." -- Prompt: Now you can publish this file to your server. Problem: When published file is opened, I get the "distribution window" at the bottom of the form. How do you get rid of this window. I can click it off but when the form is opened again, there it is. I have also tried selecting "publish form" after the edit. When form is opened, I get a prompt: This operation is not permitted.
Can you help?

I am making the assumption that the form can be filled out by the end user using their computer.

After editing, save the form without using the "distribute" or the "publish" function.

Then, replace the old form on your server, using your Web publishing software or an FTP program.

Acrobat is probably the program I use most often and I'm learning more every day.
