I'm fairly new at using LiveCycle Designer; actually I feel like a bloody novice.
Anyway - I am designing a form that needs to have a field for driver licenses. I've no issue with the alphanumeric allowances or the limitation of 8 characters (CA license) but I am stuck with something else.
How do I set the form to allow ONLY 1 alpha character (A-Z) at the beginning and then restrict it to 7 numeric characters at the end (0-9)?
For example: A1234567 < - In this manner.

I actually tried using the A9999999 pattern prior to my post but it did not restrict the form to just 1 alpha character. I continued to type all letters until the 8 character limit was reached.
I think you are correct in that I will need to just write a script which would be more robust to meet the specific requirements of said form.
