Restrict Numeric Values

I am using Adobe Designer to create a form. I am trying to restrict the values entered into a numeric field to ONLY numeric values. No matter what I do, the user can still enter alpha letters. What am I doing wrong? I have tried display patterns and edit patterns and neither worked.

Did you try to drag a Numeric Field object from the Lirary palette to your form? Use the Numeric Field object and not the Text Field object when you want user data to appear only with numeric values.
