I am very new to LiveCycle Designer. I just completed a two day course on Acrobat but this wasn't covered in detail enough to answer my questions. I have created a form (LiveCycle Designer ES) that will be added to our webpage to purchase our season tickets. In the payment options I have entered the credit card options as radio buttons. How do I script these so that only one can be selected? I have googled this question and still have no answer. Thanks.

My Product Information:
LiveCycle Designer, Windows

Hi mtwangela,

A better place than Google to look for information on radio buttons in LiveCycle Designer forms is the LiveCycle Designer Help file- there is a lot of information there for how to set up and use them in your form. You can find the LCD Help file under Help ->Adobe LiveCycle Deisnger Help, then just do a search for "radio button."Hope this helps,

That's all Greek to me. It says to create an exclusion group and select "wrap in new radio button group". That's not an option. Does it mean "wrap in subform"? Then it talks about assigning "on" values and change it to the value you want. I don't have a clue what I want. I want my form to be set that they can only check ONE payment type. This help is not user friendly for novice users. Is there a better source for answers?

Hi mtwangela,

Radio buttons as a general rule are mutually exclusive- only one choice can be made. In the Forms Gallery here at AUC the LiveCycle Designer PDF titled "MIB Player Terminal Incident Report - Class II " has a set of radio buttons. If you download that form you can open it in LiveCycle Designer and examine the code. This, incombination with the Help instructions are about as good as you are going to get beyond signing up for another class specifically for LiveCycle Designer form development. LCD has a bit of a steep learning curve so you can expect to spend many hours/days/weeks coming up to speed with it.

It may be worth your time to view the on demand e-seminars related to LiveCycle Designer forms that are also available here at AUC ( look in the e-seminars on demand section of the Learning Center). I don't recall if setting up radio buttons are shown in those, but since you are new to the program they should be helpful.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

I see in the Hierachy that this is a "Radio Button Group" Can you tell me how to create this group? I will not have any "invisible fields". All will be displayed on the form, I just need it so that only one option can be selected.

I would love to get additional training but being a Non-profit makes our additional funds for such training almost nonexistent. Plus, when I searched on line for training opportunities I didn't see any for Central Kansas.

Thank you for your help. I think if I can just find out out to create the group, I might be able to figure it out.

I figured it out. I needed to move them in the Hierachy list to all be under one radio button. Now it works that only one can be selected. Thank you for your patience.
