i have a form with a submit button but it submits to the recipient as xml file. i want a submit button that will perform the following:

1. asks to "Save As" dialog, then i put my filename.pdf
2. submit automatically to the recipient

so the recipient will recieve a filled form in a pdf format not an xml form.

Hi Matrix27, I'm pretty new to this myself, but I found a way to have a .pdf submitted instead of an .xml. It's not quite what you're asking for, but may assist.

1. I used a standard 'button' instead of the 'email submit button'.
2. In the Object palette, in the Field tab, select 'Submit' under Control Type
3. Now select the Submit tab & select .pdf from the 'submit as' dropdown
4. To enable this to be submitted to an email address instead of a URL, in the 'submit to URL:' field, type 'mailto:[email address].
5. If you want to submit to multiple addresses, simply add a semicolon and type the next email address, etc.

Like I said, I'm still a learner, so I'm not saying this is the best way - but it worked for me. It doesn't do a 'save as' function however. And I am VERY MUCH open to suggestions/improvements.

Hope that helps,
Peta

Oh and I also found this link which Radzmar provided for another forum member. It could be handy and relevant:
