In previous livecycle designer 8.0 you could set tab order by clicking with the mouse on various controls in the order that you wanted and tab order was set.

Now in livecycle 8.2 you must moving the object up or down in the Tab Order palette list. While this is cool for editiong existing tab order it's crazy for new forms.

Imagine I have a form with about hundred controls on 1 page. With old livecycle 8.0 I could click my way trough the form and that it, now I must drag every control???

Is the old way hidden somewhere or I must downgrade in order to set tabbing order? I wonder who was so smart to make you press F2 on the Tab Order palette instead they should allow you to do so on actual control.

BTW F2 does not work on version of livecycle 8.2, I must right click with the mouse

Well it seems that the idea was you must select automatic to set taborder automatically then switch tom manual and drag up down your components.

I say that because I has a problem moving components up / down. They returned to original position or were set last number available. Until I performed automatic tab ordering. So if you upgrade from 8.0 to 8.2 this is perhaps a bug.

Tab order is better than it used to be but I find it can still screw up. Sometimes you have to go into the xml source to fix things.

Tab order also has a lot to do with left to right field order and the Y position is very important - even if a field is a hair above a field on the left of it that field will get precedence in the tab order.

I never used v7, but the tab order in 8/8.1 was seriously fubar'd. 8.2 is better, believe it or not!
