Hi,
I'm having trouble getting a Data Connection to automatically create a table from my XML schema. Could you please tell me the required XML schema structure for this to work?

Sounds like your schema doesn't include table definitions.
I would: 1) Connect with your schema. 2) Create a table in Designer (7.1 and 8 have table objects) 3) Drag and drop the schema elements you want to use onto the appropriate table columns.
