How do I upgrade the PDF Version of a form that was originally created with LC Designer 7.0, but is now being edited with LC Designer 8.2?

I want this form to function at the Acrobat 8.1 level or higher to get some newer functionality.

Document Properties from inherited form originally created with LC Designer 7:
PDF Producer: Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES8.2
PDF Version: 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)

Document Properties from new form created with LC Designer 8.2. I want the inherited form to have these characteristics:
PDF Producer: Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES8.2
PDF Version: 1.7 (Acrobat 8.x)

Thanks,

Ron

Okay first open the form with LiveCycle Designer 8, and go to File->SaveAsUnder Save as Type: hit the drop down and select either 8 static or 8 dynamic based on exactly what kind of form you had.

Give it a different name perhaps and hit save and your done.

This will get your Versions 1.7 aka Acrobat 8.x

Becareful, as you move to more current versions, users with older versions of Reader/Acrobat may not be able to use your updated forms, but they will get a warning message.

One problem. My LiveCycle Designer 8.2 does not have any version choices under the "Save as Type", it only has Static PDF Form, Dynamic XML Form, XML Form and LiveCycle Designer Template.

I wanted to be at a newer version because the LC Designer form saved at Acrobat 7.x would not support the Presence "Visible (Screen Only)". My LC Designer test form saved at 8.x would support this.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

I recieved an answer to this question from Paul on another forum. He said:

Under the File menu there is a Form Properties page. In the Deafults Tab there is a Target Version parameter.

This worked.
