Hi everyone,
I'm creating a multi-page form that is essentially a services contract. This is important because I need to be able to include not only standard form objects (fields, check boxes, etc.) but also large amounts of text. To say this as briefly as possible, here is what I need help with:
1) How do I make an ordinary text box (not a multi-line text field) *break* to subsequent pages as necessary? I have 2 reasons for using a text box:
a) I have a lot of pre-populated paragraphs in the Contract to which I'd like to add text formatting (bold, font sizes, etc.), and
b) I can embed text fields over the text boxes. For example, at the top of the contract is the preamble: "This Agreement is between _______________ (field) and ______________ (field) ..."
I don't see any other way to do that. So far, I have been successful with the page breaking for tables and multi-line text fields, but not for a basic text object---even after wrapping it in a subform.
2) If I absolutely must use text fields for my pre-populated content, do I need to work with XML to actually *see* what I'm typing (into the "Value" field?) and to apply formatting as necessary?
3) A major skill I'm lacking is XML. I really don't know where to get started with it. Do I create in a text editor and import it to LiveCycle or is it a built-in component of the software?
I'm not a programmer at all, I'm just a guy who wants to make an interactive form that looks great and functions properly.
I guess that wasn't so brief!
