I have reader 8.1. worked terrific till I downloaded update. Now whatever I scan or send comes out as leagl size instead of letter size. (i send it as letter) how do I get back into the pdf letter size. Did java cause the problem? PDF reader? TIA

Hi Aviva,

Are you having this problems when you create your PDF from scans within Acrobat 8 Pro.? It may be that your scanner is not reporting the "supported page size" to Acrobat when "Hide Scanner's Native Interface" is selected in "Scanner Options" inside Acrobat 8. When this happens switch the "User Interface" option to "Show Scanner's Native Interface" and select the page size from your scanning application.

I, too, am having this problem since the update. I can make it work by exposing the native interface to my Epson Workforce 610, but it was so much easier before the need to do this.

And, it works correctly in CS4.

So, something changed in the update.
