Hello,
I just purchased two new laptops with Vista installed.
I installed my Acrobat Pro v6.0 on each and whenever I attempt to open a .pdf I get an error/warning that this version is not compatible with Vista. Usually, it causes the app to hang and I end up rebooting.
Is there some requirement or restriction that causes 6.0 not to work with Vista?
IF so, How do I upgrade? or is there some other "workaround" that will allow me to use the version (6.0) that I have installed??
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Matt.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 6.0, Windows

Every software has a set of "minimal requirements", one of which (maybe the first) is always the operating system.
The first version of Acrobat to be Vista-compatible was 8.1. Any previous version *may* work with Vista, but it is not guaranteed (and probably not advisable). If you want to upgrade (the current version is 9) you should contact Adobe directly or check their website for more details.

Your options are purchase Acrobat 8 or Acrobat 9 (upgrade or full).

If you obtain 8.x do sequence in the updates to 8.1.4.
If you obtain 9.x do sequence in the update to 9.1.

If your VISTA is 64 bit you will want to read

Download and install the free PrimoPDF http://www.primopdf.com. Once installed, choose this as the printer to create a .pdf document to from Word or any other program. You won't be able to print directly to Adobe Acrobat 6.0 anymore so you might just delete it's icon from your printer list. When you print to Primo it is a little more combersome until you get used to it, but you will be able to create .pdf documents with a Vista operating system that you can then use your Acrobat 6.0 to open.
