In some documents my hand tool has a down-pointing arrow and causes the view to magnify with a mouse L-click. What is this feature called, and how do I kill it?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.0, Windows

Hi Ack,

The presence of an up or down arrow in the Hand tool indicates the author(s) of those PDFs used the "article" feature in Acrobat. Articles are used to help move through a document in a logical sequence (for example, if a subject you are reading about on page 1 is continued on page 30).
When you click on an article thread the screen view jumps to the default maximum view assigned in the Page Display Preferences, which is typically way larger than needed.

Articles can be removed using View ->Navigation Tabs -> Articles, select the articles in the articles tab and delete. Of course this only works if you have full Acrobat and no security to prevent this change was added by the author of the file.Hope that helps,

Dimitri
