I recently upgraded to Acrobat 8 Pro and I'm confused to the difference between attaching files and combining files. Both allow you to add different file types. I see that combining files allows you to specify page ranges and you can also add and rename fields in the package properties, but are there any other differences to be aware of?
It seems to me that you could almost always use the Combine Files function, so I'm a bit unclear as to when/why it would be preferable to use Attach Files instead of Combine Files.
Thank you.
In addition, PDF Packages (part of the Combine Files feature) are unique because each file appears separately and has its own pagination. PDFs within the PDF Package also retain their individual security settings, forms features, and default views, and digital signatures stay intact.
