Hello, I have large PDF Files with over 1000 pages of scanned documents that have varying Page Layout and Magnification settings. I have tried changing the above settings in preferences in the hope that all pages format to the same setting when saved however, they don't so when I move back and forward in the file the pages have to be manually set to 'fit page' to view.

For the commercial CDs/DVDs that I create for the Charity that I volunteer to assist it is a problem that I hope to resolve to make life easier for all of the people who buy them for Genealogical Research.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Acrobat Pro 8.1.7, Windows

The information in Initial View mirrors the settings shown in the preferences, I have tried modifying both previously but neither change all of the pages to view the same way. I tried creating a single page PDF, setting the page view parameters and then importing a PDF that needs to be tidied up, this makes no difference, the imported PDF pages keep their original formatting.

Thanks for your suggestion.

If your views are changing when you page through your document (not when you initially open the file) then you can open the Pages Navigation Pane, select the pages you want to adjust, and right-click to select Page Properties. Next, select "Page Open" from the Page Trigger and under the Actions tab select "Execute Menu Item" from the Select Action pulldown. Add the appropriate menu command to get the default zoom you want (i.e., View > Zoom > Actual Size).

Sorry for not getting back to you until now, Acrobat kept on crashing so I ended up removing it from my PC and reinstalling it.

I have tried what you have suggested, it wasn't successful, it stripped out the Bookmark View which has puzzled me as I had added View>Navigation Panels>Bookmarks.I have looked at Batch Processing with the hope that this would offer a way forward but it doesn't, a script that stepped through each page of the file and set up the page view to that which is predefined would be great as some of the files have over 1000 pages, but I cannot find where this could be set up.

Any ideas?
