Acrobat 8 Standard - Quality of PDF

I am a new user. Purchased Acrobat 8 Standard earlier this year. I am trying to create PDF's from Microsoft Word documents. I am using Windows Vista.

Whenever I convert the Word document to PDF, the quality of some of the content in the PDF is very poor. I have tried everything that I can think of, but I can't seem to get it to work out.

Anyone else ever experience this? Is it a Vista issue?

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dan G

Can you explain what you mean by poor quality? Graphics? Text?

Do you have all the latest updates for Acrobat/ Word/Vista?

Thanks for responding.

Images in the footer of the Word document get distorted and blurry when it converts to PDF. I spoke with the folks at Adobe and they say that this is a problem that happens alot in Vista. That "images" (in this case my firms logo) do distort when they are in the footer for some reason.

I think it is a Vista issue more than anything. I had a friend convert the document in his Mac and it looked fine.

Thanks.

You might try installing all the latest Word and Vista updates to see if it corrects the problem -- something like this might have been corrected. Update to Acrobat 8.1.2 as well.

A couple other things you can try:
1. Turn off Track Changes
2. Use the Quick and simple PDF option to create the PDF .
