Acrobat 9: Splitting Documents

I have a 102 MB PDF file that I am trying to split up into different files. Specifically, I used the Document > Split Document command, and selected the Split Document by File Size = 5 MB. (This is supposed to be the maximum file size limit for each split portion, according to the Help text.) However, after the splitting is complete, there is a result of 26 smaller documents, but each with varying file sizes (instead of 5 MB each). The varying file sizes include 1.4 MB, 417 KB, 2.5 MB, 6.6 MB, 17 MB, 331 KB, etc. Is there a way to get each split portion to be 5 MB (or close to it)? Thank you.

Thank you, Normal. However, I need an answer as to why Acrobat's "split document" isn't working correctly with this large document. We have a large number of individuals who use Acrobat 9 with large documents, and installing additional software is not an issue. If there is a initial file size limitation that has to be adhered to first before using the "splitting by file size" feature in Acrobat, then we definitely need to know that. Has anyone tried using this feature before with any problems? I've split documents by a specific number of pages before in Acrobat, and that seems to work fine.

I do have huge files that I want to split by filesize. 5M or 10M would be to small.

I found a few splitting softwares but they don't go over 10M.

Is there any command line in Acrobat or does anyone have an idea?

Thanks!

Hello guys!

I have Installed a new version of the acrobat, but it didn't work out well. Could anyone tell what version should I get? and does it come in free?

If you want to split documents, you need the pro version. No it is not free.

The only free version you can get is the Reader
