Hi there

I've highlighted a number of paragraphs in a document, thinking that I would then just be able to quickly select the highlights and copy and paste them into a word doc. But although I can select a highlight, I can't copy / paste it :-/ Any help would be much appreciated! :-) Thank you in advance :-)

Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0, Windows

Something to try -

In Preferences, select Commenting and see if
"Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, and Underline comment pop-ups"
is available. If so, select it.

With this selection, when you select and highlight text this text is copied into the Highlight's
Pop-Up Note. As with other annotations, the Highlight's Pop-Up Note contents are present in the Comments window that you can access via the icon in the navigation pane.
In this window, the Options drop down menu provides export features (e.g., to Word, etc.).

This would put the selected (with the Highlight tool) text into Word.

Hi,

Could some one please help out with this one:

What if I needed to select a portion (lets say a few paragraphs) of text in my PDF and copy/paste it to word, but those paragraphs have only a few lines in highlight. How can I copy/paste this selected text and still have visible the different parts (text with highlight and not) in the final word document.

Ps: I tried exporting the whole document to word, and although I can see the highlight text in a different color, it actually isnĀ“t higlighted by word standards.

Thanks

@pipecosta

"...only a few lines in hightlight." This implies that the PDF is a scanned image of text that has had OCR performed.
Try to export/save as to a text file then open that in MS Word. Then clean the Word file content.

@kevinjmcintyre

Use the Marquee Zoom Tool (the magnifing glass having the dotted line box in the upper right) to select and zoom in on a portion of the PDF page content.
Click the printer icon on the tool bar or do File > Print.
In the Print dialog, tick the Page Range "Current view".
Click OK.

Dave, perhaps the tip for printing zoomed part of page should be this:
1- zoom the document, as desired
2- resize the window (acrobat or reader), as desired
3- print range 'current view'
4- page scaling: 'fit to printable area'
5- auto rotate, if desired
