Is it possible to get Acrobat working with a database? I've had a request to create a pdf that will be hosted on a website and allows users to login, fill in certain areas, then come back to that same point at a later date. is this possible? thanks. Nick

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.0, Macintosh

Yes, it's possible to connect form fields (either made in Acrobat or in LiveCycle) with a database, but it requires a bit of scripting knowledge. However, the database must be accessible using ADBC. Is this database available online for your users to access?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not a programmer so this is a little outside my comfort zone, but in essence, we've asked to produce some training materials, which we would prefer to in indesign and provide to them in Acrobat, but they need users to be able to log in to the materials using passwords, work through the materials, but stop and return without losing information. I guess we would need to talk to the people who maintain their website about the database? Any further advice would be greatly appreciated. regards Nick

It sounds problematic. At least with Acrobat forms (don't know about LC forms) your users will not be able to read or write data from the DB if they have Reader. Acrobat Pro or Standard is a must.
I think you need some other solution for your problem.
