When I use Distiller to print a Word file, the bookmarks do not show up, nor do the Word links work (TOC and "see page xx"). Also, the "New Bookmarks from structure..." is grayed-out, even though I use structure in the Word file. In Word, when I do a "Save as PDF" everything works as expected. What am I doing wrong or what settings should I change? Thanks. Richard
When you go via "File > Print" and use the Adobe Printer you go direct to Distiller.
Distiller, by itself, does not "do" the advanced stuff.
For links, bookmarks, tags, etc. you must run MS Office output through the Adobe PDFMaker.
How you configure Adobe PDFMaker determines what it pre-processes and passes on to Distiller.
